Black fruit (blueberries and blackberries) reigns supreme in this wine with a long, elegant, persistent finish with some resin and pine notes. It presents some herbaceous complexity, where light vegetable and cocoa notes can be felt. It has very smooth tannins, high enough acidity for the alcohol content and the barrels are well integrated. Harvested in the second week of September and aged for 12 months in used French oak barrels. Great ageing potential! It goes very well with any traditional Portuguese meat and codfish dishes, although it can be drunk on its own.
